We stayed one night at Deception Bay State Park, near Mt. Vernon, Washington. U.S.A.

The surrounding area is beautiful, as it is on the peninsula. We had water, electricity, a pull through site, hot showers, which one needs tokens for, which one can purchase at the gate, where you register. They accept Visa cards as well. The staff was friendly and helpful. The view from the beach is very beautiful. We would have loved to have stayed longer, but unfortunately fighter jets from a nearby naval base flew over us, which the park has no control over.

“Deception Pass State Park is a 4,134-acre marine and camping park with 77,000 feet of saltwater shoreline, and 33,900 feet of freshwater shoreline on three lakes. Rugged cliffs drop to meet the turbulent waters of Deception Pass. The park is outstanding for breath-taking views, old-growth forests and abundant wildlife.” – Deception Bay State Park

  1. Another fabulous spot – I don’t mean that place to be sleepless in! 🙂
Have you never been tempted to pack a small boat on the top? Or an inflatable?
