I moved my craft supplies to the basement.
Tools that I use most are close at hand.
I love the table down the middle, where I can spread out the layouts that I’m working on. I cover them with glass sheets (microwave oven glass plates, second hand from thrift-stores) to protect them when I’m not working from “you know who“. The green toolbox underneath is from . I don’t have a room with a view anymore, but hubby hung shop-lights from the ceiling for me, which works well. Although I don’t have large windows, it did give me more space to put up my Magnetic boards. Nikon D70 ©
I tear out the magazine articles that I like and keep them in alphabetical files.
These wooden shelves hold my radio, music, notebooks, files, craft magazines, books, Zipper Binders, etc. The window-sill has jars filled with buttons, embellishments, etc. On the wall is a printer’s tray with rubber-stamps. On top of the blue 12 x 12 Cropper Hopper Photo Supply Cases is a basket with my large wooden rubber stamps. The 12 x 12 boxes hold ribbons, alphabets and lesser used supplies. Nikon D70 ©
On the wall is another printer’s tray filled with wooden rubber-stamps and one of my Magnetic boards. The butcher’s block is from Ikea. The wooden boxes were a Thrift-store find, but they are available from Ikea, filled with embellishments, punches, beads, foam stamps, clear stamps, etc. In the drawers are tools, stamp pads, embossing powders, paint, etc. Nikon D70 ©

A few things that motivated me:
- PUT ON SOME MUSIC!
- Imagine someone else working in the room. Will they know where to find anything?
- Have labeling supplies ready.
- Label as much as possible.
- Keep supplies together that belong together e.g. rubber-stamps.
- Place most used supplies closest to where you work.
- Try to use matching containers.
- Think decorating.
- Put away supplies that you don’t use.
- Try great ideas from Pinterest.
- Taking photos and posting them.
- Start at one end and just do it!
- Imagine what it will look like.
- I will save time by not searching for supplies.
- Reward yourself.
Hopefully it will stay like this for a while.
