It was a lovely day on Canada Day, we went to the Ghost Wilderness area again.

“Devil’s Head
2997m (9833ft.)
Located in the Ghost River Valley west of Black Rock Mountain. Park, Alberta
Latitude 51; 20; 40 Longitude 115; 15; 55, Topo map 82O/06
Named by Peter Fidler in 1792. The name Devil’s Head is a translation of the Stoney Indian name based on the mountain’s shape. Official name.”
First ascended in 1925 by L.S. Crosby, J.W.A. Hickson, guided by Edward Feuz jr.. Journal reference AJ 38-67.

2462m (8078ft.) Located in the Ghost River Valley 7 km east of Devil’s Head. Park, Alberta
Latitude 51; 20; 05 Longitude 115; 10; 00, Topo map 82O/06
Named in 1958. The mountain appears black, particularly when viewed from the east and clouds shroud the peaks behind it. Official name. “

      LOL The only problem is that they will get onto any Quad or even Golf Cart. 😉

  1. I haven’t seen Long-Horns for a long, long time. Good to see them again.

    Also, Tok, this is a thrill…I camped near the Ghost River Dam. Don’t know if the dam still exists, but we had a great weekend. A Ranger actually loaned us his cabin and it was heaven.

    • Hubby wanted me to go closer, but they were snorting at me 😉

      I’m so glad, we never tire of the area.

      There is a Ghost Dam near Cochrane, which we drive past on our way to the Ghost Wilderness area. We have gone on it with canoes, boats and even with a 4 x 4 on the frozen dam!

      They do ice-fishing and sailing on it in winter.

      Not Again!
      I believe there is also a Ghost Lake, which we have not found yet.

      It’s a wonderful country.
      We haven’t seen Cape Town in years and miss it very much.
